Barnes Law Group Wins $12 Million Insurance Class Action Settlement
(PRWEB) November 14, 2008 -- Barnes Law Group, LLC successfully represented a class of Georgia consumers in a class action lawsuit who purchased group health insurance from American Medical Security and United Wisconsin. The firm achieved a substantial settlement from the class action lawsuit which was approved by the court in September 2008.
Under the terms of the class action settlement of Parker v. American Medical Security, class action members will receive a combined $12 Million in premium refunds and future credits. This class action suit challenged the methodology used by insurance companies to set renewal premiums, claiming this method was unfair and discriminatory for Georgia small business owners.

Class action members will automatically receive settlement claims forms in the mail starting the third week of October. Class action members will have to register to participate in this settlement. Many of the class action members will receive significant health insurance premium refunds and credits towards additional American Medical Security insurance products.
